Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu: The Briadeeswarar temple, or Brihadishvara temple is an ancient Hindu temple that is dedicated to deity Shiva, that dates back to the 11th century. Here a sculpture (a statue) in a recess of one of the external walls. It possibly represents the deity Parvati, with the head of a bull at its foot. This is the scan of a slide taken in July-August, 1996.
