Kalahari: The fire

In the Kalahari desert, the fire may set on spontaneously during the drought period. Here a landscape that is burning, with dry grass in foreground and smoke columns in the sky that are separated by the high flames at the horizon, and the trail that passes through the line of flames. It was the Botswana part of the reserve, by arriving from Maun. This is the scan of a slide taken by a Nikon (Kalahari, 2006).
