Kalahari: A lilac-breasted roller after the fire

In the drought period, desert Kalahari regions may be on fire naturally. Here a lilac-breasted roller -Coracia caudatus - that rests on a bare spiny bush after the passage of fire, in the Botswana part of the reserve, by arriving from Maun. Its colors contrast with the black soil. This is the scan of a slide taken by a Nikon (Kalahari, 2006).
