Giannutri, Argentario: A view of the high part of a Grottone (big cavern)

Giannutri is an island near the promontory of Argentario, in the province of Grosseto, in Toscana. Among the island’s landmarks are the Grottoni (the big caverns). This is a view of the high part of one of them. The partially rose-coloured enlightened external surface contrasts with the shadowed inner part and with the reddish terrain on the background. There are two small stalactites in foreground (July, 2012).
