A characteristic panorama in the Petrified Forest

The Petrified Forest is a natural landmark that is located in an Argentina's National Park, in Santa Cruz province. Here, a characteristic panorama with the so-called Mother and Son tops of mountains. It was the rainy season, in this arid region, and there is a flat water surface that covers part of the plain. The parti of petrified fossil trunk in foreground enhances this spectacular, geologically interesting, view. This is the scan of a slide taken by a Nikon (Argentina, 2003).
